Boy & Girl of the Year
NORTHEAST INDIANA'S 2014 BOY & GIRL OF THE YEAR
The Boy & Girl of the Year are local children battling blood cancers who serve as motivation and inspiration to Man & Woman of the Year candidates in their competition to raise funds for research, education, advocacy, and patient aid.

3-year-old Caleb was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) on May 21, 2012. He is in the maintenance phase of treatment, taking oral chemotherapy daily. Caleb also gets IV chemotherapy every month, and spinal taps every 12 weeks. He has been in remission since June 1, 2012, but will continue treatments until July 30, 2015.
Caleb has a twin brother, Carsen. His favorite color is green and he enjoys farming, riding in a combine, and playing with his John Deere tractor.
Caleb's parents wathced one of their 2-year-olds miss out on all holidays last year. No child should have to miss out on any part of childhood. The Hoppe family is incredibly grateful for the support given to the Man & Woman of the Year campaign because with funding comes research, and with research comes a cure!

Gianna is 9 years old and was diagnosed with ALL, the most common form of childhood leukemia, on January 7, 2013. She is currently in remission and will continue chemotherapy for the next two years.
Gianna has one brother, Dominic. She enjoys drawing, playing Minecraft, and watching Duck Dynasty.
The Caccamo family is thankful to all of the Man & Woman of the Year candidates, sponsors, and supporters for all of the time, efforts, and energy that are being put into raising much needed awareness and funds to help make others lives a little more comfortable during such trying times. They recognize and appreciate that such help will soon stop those trying times altogether.
