Boy of the Year
Parents: Dustin & Wendy Stamps
Ethan, almost five, was diagnosed with B-ALL Leukemia on February 20, 2016. He is currently in the maintenance phase of his treatment and goes for IV chemotherapy once a month and receives spinal taps every three months. Ethan has been in remission since March 23, 2016.
Ethan is very close with his brother (Damon) and sister (Ellen) and enjoys playing outside with them when he can. He also loves to help his Dad in his shop and nothing beats helping his Mom cook.
The Stamps family adopted the motto, "one day at a time" after Ethan was diagnosed and it has helped them in the many different phases of Ethan's treatment. Ethan inspires his family every day by always having a smile on his face, a positive attitude and amazing strength.
Girl of the Year
ALAYTHEA (ALLY) BAKER
Parents: Tyler & Amy Baker
Ally, now 3, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) on June 15, 2015. She has undergone chemotherapy since diagnosis and has been in treatment for nearly two years. As of October 2016, Ally is in remission and is in the maintenance phase of her treatment where she receives oral chemotherapy at home and monthly clinic visits.
A fun fact about Ally is that her favorite thing to do is play tag! She also loves to play with her doll house, babies, puzzles and her Kindle. When she's not busy playing, Ally loves helping her Mommy cook and bake.
Ally is a brave little girl and she often tells her parents that "Jesus is healing me."
