Welcome to the Minnesota Chapter
Each year across the country, Man & Woman of the Year campaign enlists influential, compassionate community leaders to raise money during a 10-week fundraising competition. Community and business leaders are nominated by LLS volunteers and staff to be a candidate. The candidates use their leadership skills and influence to conduct individual fundraising campaigns in honor of the Boy & Girl of the Year who are children battling blood cancer or survivors who serve as motivation and inspiration to candidates. Local titles are awarded to the man and woman who raise the most funds; the local winners compete for the national titles.
Nationally, 838 candidates accepted their nominations to run for Man & Woman of the Year in 2015 raising $32.5 million. The Minnesota Chapter?s 7 candidates raised $400,000. The 2016 ten week fundraising campaign begins with the kickoff celebration Thurs., Mar. 10 and concludes Sat., May 21 with a goal of raising $500,000.
