2012 Boy & Girl of the Year

Boy of the Year - Chris Weller

Chris is 13 years old and lives in Anaheim. He is in 7th grade and has a brother, Matthew, and a sister, Caroline. When Chris was only five years old, he was diagnosed with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia. Now, he has been cancer free since March 2006! Chris loves playing the drums, flag football, and finds a passion in learning more about technology. He is funny and social, and an inspiration to all!

Girl of the Year - Bailey Cooney

Bailey is 14 years old lives in Upland. She is in 8th grade and has two older brothers, Casey and Cory. When Bailey was two, she was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).  Now she is an 11-year survivor! Bailey loves shopping and fashion. She also takes jazz and hip-hop lessons and has a passion for dancing. She hopes to join the cheerleading team when she starts high school next year. Bailey always has a smile on her face and is an absolute joy to be around.
                              

The Boy & Girl of the Year are local children battling blood cancers who serve as motivation and inspiration to Man & Woman of the Year candidates in their competition to raise funds and win the titles.
