2013 Savannah MWOY was a HUGE Success!

For those of you that haven't heard, our Grand Finale event was last Friday night. At the conclusion of the night the winners of the MAn & Woman of the Year were announced along with the total raised through our combined campaigns. Man of the Year went to Tal Johnson and the Woman of the Year went to Emily Dickinson. Congratulations to both of them for a job well done! For those of you that were cheering for me to win Man of the Year, please know that we did very well and raised just under $20,000 - nearly 2x our personal goal of $10,000! The greatest part of the night took place when our emcee, Jesse Blanco of WTGS, announced that our campaign raised over $202,000 for LLS of Georgia! This is more than double our goal of $100,000. Thank you to everyone that supported any campaign this has truly been a blessing and it wouldn't have been possible without the support ofgreat friends, family, and the Savannah community!

Less than one week left!

This campaign has been amazing journey that is quickly coming to a close. I only have until May 31st to complete my fundraising efforts. I am blessed to have so many friends and family join me in this mission (some of which are listed on this page, but there are many others), but there is always more that we can do.

If you or someone you love has been impacted by blood cancer this is your opportunity to honor them by supporting the great work of LLS!

Only five more days to go!

I wanted to take a moment this evening to thank the students, teachers, parents, and staff of Hancock Day School. The middle school students are completing their spring service project and are in the process of raising money for LLS - and doing so through my campaign for MWOY! Hancock is a place where great students do great things and I'm proud to have them as part of my team!

The students are running their campaign through May 10th, so if you know one - find'em and show'em your support!

Go Eagles!

Upcoming Events in Savannah for LLS

I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone that has supported the campaign thus far - whether financially, through volunteer efforts, or simply through kinds words. The work we're doing will have a resounding effect on the battle against LLS and I'm proud to be part of such a great team!

Okay, we've got a couple events coming up that I wanted everyone to be aware of. These are a couple of fun opportunity for you to come out and support the cause!

Wednesday, May 8th - Pizzas for a Purpose - Percentage night at Your Pie

The great people at Your Pie have agreed to share a portion of the sales proceeds collected between 5-9 PM on this evening with our campaign! Come on out and support the cause - bring the whole family!

Thursday, May 9th - Savannah Sand Gnats v. Rome Braves

While this isn't an officially sanctioned Savannah Sand Gnats event, they have agreed to allow LLS to collect donations outside Grayson Stadium prior to Thursday night’s game. I'll be there with fellow MWOY candidate Rob Bowden so come on out and see us!

Friday, May 17th - Concert at Tubby's in Thunderbolt

We're in the final stages on putting together what will certainly be a great show this evening with one of Nashville's newest recording artists! I'll update this page with additional details once they are confirmed, but I assure you that you won't want to miss this great event!

Thank you to everyone who came out to last night's Campaign Kickoff! It was a huge success! The turnout was great and everyone in attendance had an opportunity to spend some time with six year-old Cora, this year's Girl of the Year. Sam wasn't able to join us thanks to the hard work of the folks at the Make-a-Wish Foundation who set him up to meet David Anderson, the driver of his favorite monster truck, Grave Digger. The LLS team put together a fantastic event that serves as the launching point of an exciting 10-week campaign.

I would also like to thank everyone that has offered their support to my campaign whether it was through a kind email, phone call, offer to volunteer, or financially. While this is setup as a competition amongst friends our efforts are really focused on raising money (and awareness) for LLS.

The "Donate Now" button on my webpage is now live for those of you who wish to donate. More information to come on special events as my campaign progresses so check back often!

Welcome to my Man & Woman of the Year home page!

Please join me in supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) by making a donation to my fundraising campaign. Every dollar I raise also counts as one vote and the candidate who gets the most votes/raises the most money is named the Man or Woman of the Year.

Our ten-week campaign honoring Savannah's 2013 Boy & Girl of the Year, and the over one million Americans battling leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma, begins on March 20th. We need your help!

Thanks to your support, my efforts will help fund research, therapies, treatments, and help save lives.

LLS's continued advancements over the years, are responsible for the blood cancer survival rate doubling and tripling; in some cases, the survival rate has even quadrupled.

And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers. They're even being tested in clinical trials for patients with a range of cancers including lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. We really are changing the face of blood cancer!

All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS research but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well.

Please visit my website often and share our efforts with your friends, family, co-workers or anyone else you know that would like to donate.

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere I thank you for your support! For more information about LLS, please visit

We are sorry donations are no longer being accepted for this participant for this event.
