Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
I have been given the opportunity of a lifetime to help the more than 1 million Americans who are living with blood cancers. Each year the North Carolina Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society hosts the Man & Woman of the Year fundraising competition. This year I was asked to join team, HOPE FIGHTS, led by 2017 Woman of the Year candidate, Katherine Culpepper, who happens to be my little sister!
During this campaign from March 23rd – June 3, our team goal is to raise $20,000 which will go directly to LLS in support of its longstanding mission to find a cure for blood cancers and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
All donations are greatly appreciated and tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS research, but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well.
But obviously, this isn’t about me or Katherine. This is about prevention for my my sister's mother in law, Allison Culpepper. She has precancer multiple myeloma and has bloodwork done regularly to alert us when cancer strikes. We are so thankful for the doctors that work with her and will continue to work with her from here on out. She has had this condition for a number of years and in that time research and treatment have improved a great deal because of groups like LLS and donors like you. With those improvements comes increased hope for Allison. If the day comes that a treatment plan needs to be made for her we want to know that we've done what we can to equip doctors to give her and other patients the best possible care. Cancer can hit any family at any time. Please, join with me in doing your part to fight cancer and give hope to patients like Allison.
This is also about our Boy & Girl of the Year, Levi Vetter & Ally Davis, their stories, and their families. These children, thankfully, are local blood cancer survivors and they have received tremendous support from LLS along with lifesaving treatments that have been funded & researched by LLS.
Boy & Girl of the Year
Every dollar we raise supports the LLS mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families. To date LLS has funded over $1 billion in blood cancer research that has led to a doubling and tripling of survival rates in the last 60 years!
