Please join me in this great opportunity to help the more than 1 million Americans living with blood cancers.
Each year, the New Jersey Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphomas Society (LLS) selects approximately 10 candidates for the Man & Woman of the Year campaign. I am honored to announce that I have been chosen as a candidate and will be participating in this 10 week long fundraising campaign - April 4th to June 15th.
To support important research and increase awareness, we have created Mary's Miracle Workers, a campaign team to honor those who have battled cancer – specifically blood cancers. We are working to accomplish three goals:
- Raise $130,000 for the New Jersey Chapter to support blood cancer research and the quality of life programs for patients and their families.
- Increase awareness about the impact of blood cancers and innovative treatments.
- Inspire family and friends to volunteer and positively impact another person’s life.
Mary's Miracle Workers is inspired by individuals close to our hearts who have battled all forms of cancer.
While each story is moving, my brother, George William’s experience of overcoming blood cancer, serves as a vibrant example of the courageous, unwavering, and unyielding fight against these diseases. As a 48-year-old, George was misdiagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Thankfully, he was later diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma which is not only treatable but curable. George underwent over 6 months of intensive chemotherapy before reaching remission. Nearly 5 years later, he danced with his beautiful daughter at her wedding.
This year alone, 54,000 blood cancer deaths are expected. Leukemia still causes more deaths than any other cancer among children under the age of 20. Something can and must be done and you can help.
Mary's Miracle Workers would be grateful for your support. Donate today and together we can make a difference in the lives of those battling blood cancers. *Please note: your donations are tax deductible*. Aside from donations, we would love to hear from you or someone you know who would be willing to donate goods or services for auction items, sponsorships, ads, or other possible fundraising opportunities. Large or small, your contribution to this worthy effort will be greatly appreciated.
Let’s perform another miracle together for all those who continue to battle these diseases.
Be part of the cure.
