Each year The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) has a fundraising campaign called “Man of the Year.” It also has a concurrent campaign called, “Woman of the Year.” I have been nominated by The Rocky Mountain Chapter (there are 56 chapters nationwide) for the former. There are several other men and women competing as well. In short, it’s a fun and competitive challenge to raise the most money for blood cancer research. I was amazed to learn that today 40% of all new drugs coming on the market to fight all cancers have origins in blood cancer research. It really makes sense considering blood flows to every nook and cranny of our bodies. If we figure out the keys to ending blood cancers, we’re going to figure out a way to end all cancers.
As a non-profit agency, LLS relies exclusively on donations from corporations and individuals like you. Currently, 74% of the money LLS spends is used to fund research to find cures, and provide services and support for patients and families fighting blood cancer. I believe it is time we step up to make a difference.
As Man of the Year is a fundraising campaign, I’m reaching out to folks like you with servant’s hearts who want to help in raising money to continue funding effective research and treatments for blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma. At this time, research and treatments in this area are also spilling over into treating loved ones with Alzheimer’s, diabetes and other problematic public health issues before America and the world.
My goal is to raise as much money as possible over the next 10 weeks and I would greatly appreciate your contribution. You can easily make a tax deductible donation here. Additionally, you can send a check payable to LLS with my name on the memo line to: 720 S. Colorado Blvd. Ste. 500-S. Denver, CO 80246.
If this cause resonates strongly with you, we welcome the support of people who believe they can contribute to our goal through table sponsors, event sponsors, donating auction items and soliciting individual/family donations.
Every one of us has been personally affected by cancer, and some day this could be our own personal battle. Join me in creating a future where our loved ones are free from the fear of losing us to cancer.
Thank you greatly for your consideration and continued support!
