I hope you are able to help!
Dear Friends,
I am thrilled to be running for the 2013 Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Man of the Year! When I was asked to consider running, the timing was right, and learning that more than 85% of the funds I raise will go directly to cancer research grants and clinical trials, I said “YES” immediately!!!
It’s difficult to think of a single friend who hasn’t been touched by cancer in one way or another. Like many people, I have been affected by cancer in one of the most horrible ways imaginable, with the loss of my beloved partner of nearly 9 years in October 2000. David was only 40 years old and so full of life and boundless energy. His one life wish was that he could live to be 100. He didn’t place any conditions on that wish like many of us would…not caring if he could walk, talk, or even see. He simply wanted to live. David wrote the note below just days before he died and mailed it to me at work. I received it after his memorial service.
This note always serves as my reminder that we are all here to make the world a better place. To that end, I humbly ask for your help. My goal…$100,000! And, if I raise $50,000, LLS will name a research grant after David. I see this as a challenge, not only to myself, but to all of us. We can band together to further the important research that will help bring cancer to an end.
My campaign runs from February 21 - May 3, 2013. All donations must be made within this time frame to count toward my $100,000 goal. It will take a community of supporters to make this a successful campaign. I hope I can count on you to participate.
The easiest way to make a donation is to click the “Donate Now!” button to the right.
