Welcome to my Man & Woman of the Year home page!
My name is Erica Steinbeck and I am honored and excited to be running for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's 2013 "Woman of the Year".
Please join me in supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) by making a donation to my fundraising campaign. Every dollar I raise counts as one vote and the candidate who gets the most votes /raises the most money is named the Man or Woman of the Year.
I am dedicating my campaign in memory of my friend, Annmarie Sanfillipo who lost her life at age 32 to the Leukemia (AML) she battled so fiercely for six years.
Those of us who personally knew Annmarie would tell you that she always had a smile on her face and she always found laughter in every aspect of life. This was also true during her battle with Leukemia.
Though I couldn't help my friend survive her disease, I, along with my campaign team the "Leukemaniacs" are extremely determined to win the title of "Woman of the Year".
I have set a goal of rasing $50,000.00 with the knowledge that I will be a part of the effort that will one day soon produce a cure.
Everyone knows someone who has been diagnosed with a type of cancer. Imagine the gratitude a cancer patient will feel for someone to donate money that will help assist in medical bills, cancer treatments and research.
Thanks to your support, my efforts, will help fund the therapies and treatments and help save lives today.
LLS's continued advancements over the years, are responsible for the blood cancer survival rate doubling and tripling; in some cases, the survival rate has even quadrupled.
And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers. They're even being tested in clinical trials for patients with a range of cancers including lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. LLS funded drugs like Gleevec, Sprycel, Arinza, Tasigna and Zolinza are now being tested for patients with other non-cancerous diseases like Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Multiple Sclerosis.
We really are changing the face of blood cancer!
All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS research but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well.
My campaign runs between March 8th and will end at the grand finale on May 17th.
Donations to LLS and my campaign can be made with credit card securely through this website. Also, checks made payable to "Leukemia Lymphoma Society" and mailed to my home at: 611 Coleberry Ct., Cleves, Ohio 45002.
