Every year, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) launches its Man & Woman of the Year fundraising campaign, and I was honored to be nominated by a good friend of mine and 2009 Man of the Year, Bill Gieseking. This is my first time doing anything like this, and I humbly ask for your support of LLS’s mission to find cures and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients. LLS is saving lives not just someday, but today.
Joining me in this awesome campaign is our honored “girl of the year” Kyanna! She is 7 years old and in 1st grade. At only 3 1/2 years old, she was diagnosed with A.L.L. (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia). She began her battle with cancer in July of 2010 and fought for her life for over 2 years. Kyanna's positive spirit guided her through till her last chemo treatment on October 1, 2012 and she is currently in remission. From the 1st time I met her, I knew we would make an awesome team!!
From February 28th through May 9th, our team goal is to raise $50,000, which will go directly to LLS to support its researcher’s in finding treatments that save lives. Please click on the link to the right to make a tax-deductible contribution to LLS. Of course you can snail mail me your contribution as well. Please reach out to others you know and ask them to do the same. I have found that so many of the people I talk to about our team’s efforts have a connection to blood cancer and want to get involved.
I will keep you updated with our progress and I am grateful for your friendship and support.
