Each year, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) launches its Man & Woman of the Year fundraising campaign, and I was honored to join this year’s efforts as the 2017 Man of the year candidate. I am posting today to ask for your support of LLS’s mission in its efforts to find cures for blood cancers and to assist patients and families as they battle this disease.
I like many of you, know first-hand what it is like to fight this battle. My wife has survived Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma once and had a relapse a few years ago. We were then advised to take a wait and see approach. My daughter has survived leukemia twice and had to have a bone marrow transplant in order to survive. The research that LLS has funded provided both with my wife and daughter with the ability to be with us today.
There are many reasons to be proud to support LLS’S efforts. For instance, more than 40% of new cancer therapies approved by the FDA between 2000 and 2015 were first approved for blood cancer patients. And many of these LLS-supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are now approved to help other cancers and autoimmune diseases. They are also being tested in clinical trials for other cancers as well as diabetes and lupus.
This is where you come in please use the link in this letter to make a tax deductible contribution to LLS. You will receive a confirmation of your donation by e-mail. I am also asking you to reach out to others you know and ask them to do the same. Please help me in reaching my goal of $150,000.00.
I thank you in advance for supporting this incredible need. For now, I am grateful for your support.
p.s. Does your company have a matching gifts program that might match your donation or be able to gift an item that can be auctioned off for funds at one of our events.
