Welcome to Shar Christopher's MWOY All Star Alumni Fundraising Page!

Someday is Today!

May 03, 2017

Thank you for visiting my page and helping me in my efforts to raise money and find cures for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Starting March 2, 2017, I will be fundraising again for LLS, for ten weeks with the Grand Finale on May 13th! This is a true honor to be nominated by the Utah Chapter as an All-Star Woman of the Year candidate. I will be representing Utah amongst all other LLS chapters Nationally! With your generous donations, we can help find a CURE and make life better for patients with blood cancers and their families. There are still too many dying from these diseases.

LLS is an amazing organization that gives almost Eighty Cents from every Dollar donated directly to patient care through funding research to develop new treatments, medication copay assistance, travel assistance for patients/families, translation services, and emotional support for patients/families navigating the heartache and financial hardships of a cancer diagnosis. Your dollar is making a difference!

The Man and Woman of the Year campaign is done in honor of local pediatric cancer survivors. As a mom of two young boys, this inspires me and creates a passion to be engaged with the mission of this campaign. This year's boy and girl of the year are James (5 years old) and Teagan (4 years old). You can read their story on the link below.

Over the years, support from people like you has been responsible for the blood cancer advancements that have doubled, tripled, and in some cases quadrupled the survival rate for some blood cancers. LLS doesn't just fund cures for leukemia and lymphoma. Several of the drugs they help develop treat breast, lung, and colon cancer to name a few. Blood cancers can also occur because of treatments for other conditions including autoimmune diseases and other cancers.

As a Physician Assistant who took care of blood cancer patients for almost ten years, I personally saw the difference LLS has made in the world of blood cancers. I know in my heart, patients diagnosed today have a better chance of survival with the advancements of chemotherapy, immunotherapy and cutting edge technology. Quality of life is priceless.

Please share my website with your friends and family who may also like to donate! My goal is to raise $50,000 and every dollar counts.

Thank you,

Shar
