LLS announced the winners of the 2010 campaign at The Palace Hotel in San Francisco on June 7, 2010. Congratulations to our 2010 Man of the Year, Tom Klein, Regional Vice President of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and General Manager of the Fairmont San Francisco and to our 2010 Woman of the Year, Carolyn Balling, a corporate trainer who serves as the National Advisory Hike Coach for LLS's Team In Training program.

We are proud to say that the competition began here in San Francisco twenty years ago! The first event was held in remembrance of John Spencer, a valued Hastings Department Store employee who died of leukemia at the age of 39. It was in John's memory that Hastings began supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). Since 1990, more and more chapters have added the Man & Woman of the Year Campaign. Now, hundreds of men and women in over 60 cities across America vie for the title each year in a ten-week fundraising competition.
You are crucial to help continue the fight. Join other Bay Area leaders and philanthropists in the Man & Woman of the Year campaign and discover how much you mean to the community.
