Woman of the Year: Hasti Taghi, Communication Director at
Texas Children's Hospital
We are excited to once again begin inviting dynamic and passionate candidates to engage in a ten-week intensive fundraising competition to earn The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's "Man & Woman of the Year" titles, by raising funds for blood cancer research. The 2015 campaign will kick off with a celebration on March 26, 2015 at Saks Fifth Avenue; and will culminate in a celebration of everyone's efforts at the Grand Finale Gala on Friday, June 5, 2015 at River Oaks Country Club.
Ideal candidates are community based leaders who are philanthropic, ambitious, socially active, resourceful, goal oriented, and passionate about making a difference in the lives of people suffering from blood cancers. Their ambition drives them to fundraise in a very large-scale capacity with record-breaking results.
Every three minutes, someone in the United States is diagnosed with a blood cancer. LLS is the world's largest national voluntary health organization dedicated to curing blood cancers and improving the quality of life of patients. Fortunately, there is hope for a future free of blood cancers.
