Boy & Girl of the Year

Texas Gulf Coast Boy & Girl of the Year

The Boy & Girl of the Year are local children battling blood cancers who serve as motivation and inspiration to Man & Woman of the Year candidates in their competition to raise funds and win the titles.

Boy of the Year

Noah Bratsch
Noah Bratsch

Noah was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in July 2009. He is currently in the maintenance phase and doing quite well. Noah's treatment end date is in November of 2012, so there is still a long road ahead but he is a strong cancer fighter. Noah has down syndrome so on top of the cancer the family deals with cognitive and physical issues. He LOVES anything Disney, particularly Toy Story. He enjoys playing games on the wii. He also loves his big sister Sam and big brother Nick.

Girl of the Year

Chloe Rodriguez
Chloe Rodriguez
Chloe was diagnosed with leukemia in 2007. After 2 years of treatment she went into remission, but then 9 months later, in 2010, she relapsed. At that point, she needed a bone marrow transplant and her brother Cole was thankfully a match. She says treatment was the worst thing because of all the needles and she lost all her hair - 3 times total, but the best part was her leukemia nurse, Robin. Chloe is now in remission and is a happy, healthy 13 year old girl. She loves anything to do with fashion: shopping, clothes, nails and make-up and one day she would like to be a buyer for Saks, a stylist or make-up artist. She loves the book The Hunger Games, sushi, traveling with her family to tropical places and her role models are her parents.
