Join Us For The Virginia Chapter
2016 Man & Woman Of The Year Campaign
Everyone wins when cancer loses.
Each year, in communities across the country, dynamic, passionate candidates engage in a spirited ten-week competition to earn The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's "Man & Woman of the Year" titles by raising funds for blood cancer research. The candidates compete in honor of children who are local blood cancer survivors, the Boy & Girl of the Year. Nationally in 2015, LLS's Man & Woman of the Year campaign raised over $32.5 million for research and patient services.
On March 13, 2016, the Virginia Chapter launched its 2016 MWOY Campaign. Nine candidates from around the state are competing for the coveted titles of Man and Woman of the Year. Candidates for Man & Woman of the Year are extraordinary people! This elite group was nominated and recruited by a team of LLS supporters and share an incredible drive and compassion for others. They are well-connected to their communities and are relentless in their efforts to find cures for blood cancers.
The Grand Finale Gala, "An Evening with the Stars," will be held in the newly renovated Altria Theater on Saturday, May 21, 2016. Guests will gather for cocktails, music, dancing, a seated dinner, live and silent auctions and finally the announcement of the Man & Woman of the Year.
Thank you to our incredible class of candidates for taking on this challenge!
