Join Us For The Virginia Chapter
2017 Man & Woman Of The Year Campaign
Everyone wins when cancer loses.
Each year, in communities across the country, dynamic, passionate candidates engage in a spirited ten-week competition to earn The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's ?Man & Woman of the Year? titles by raising funds for blood cancer research. The candidates compete in honor of children who are local blood cancer survivors, the Boy & Girl of the Year. Nationally in 2016, LLS' Man & Woman of the Year campaign raised $37.9 million for research and patient services. Locally, with the help of nine incredible candidates, the Virginia Chapter raised $476,000. In March of 2017, the Virginia Chapter will launch its campaign, during which 12+ candidates from around the state will raise funds and compete for title of Man or Woman of the Year.
Candidates for Man & Woman of the Year are extraordinary people! Part of an elite group hand-selected by a team of LLS supporters, they share an incredible drive and compassion for others. Candidates are dynamic individuals who are well-connected in their communities and are relentless in their efforts to find cures for blood cancers. The campaign garners media attention both locally and nationally through digital, print, on-air & social media.
