Cromwell and Christine Awards

Congratulations to Georgia Chapter Board of Trustee members Cromwell Baun and Christine Pullara, who were recognized by the LLS National Recognition & Awards Program for their exceptional work for the Georgia Chapter. Your time, talent and commitment to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has been outstanding and has helped the chapter achieve a new level of success. You have made a significant impact in the lives of those living with a blood cancer and have helped LLS come closer to its vision of a world without blood cancers.

Chairman's Special Recognition Award - Christine Pullara

The Chairman's Special Recognition Award recognizes an individual who is deserving of recognition for their outstanding commitment to an event or program that has resulted in increased revenue and building public awareness of LLS and its mission.  Today we honor Christine Pullara for the incredible impact she has made on the Atlanta Man & Woman of the Year campaign.

For nearly 10 years, Christine has been the emcee of our Atlanta Man & Woman of the Year campaign, elevating the status of our event immeasurably by her alignment and support.  In addition, Christine has also generously provided LLS promotional services on her show, Atlanta & Co. many times. Last year, Christine increased her involvement with Man & Woman of the Year by participating as an Honorary Candidate, exceeding her goal and raising over $115,000!  This year, Christine expanded her involvement in multiple ways: volunteering as emcee for our Atlanta Students of the Year Grand Finale, registering to participate & fundraise in our inaugural Big Climb Event, and even recruiting her children’s school to participate in our Pennies for Patients campaign.  We are so thankful to Christine – not only for her ongoing support – but for her willingness to always say YES and in doing so, helping us move forward the mission of LLS and the patients we serve.
Congratulations, Christine!

Chairman's Leadership Award - Cromwell Baun

This award recognizes an individual who has been active in a chapter for at least three years, and has provided expertise and guidance that has helped the chapter achieve new levels of success.  Today, we honor Cromwell Baun for his outstanding commitment to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society-Georgia Chapter and the Atlanta Man & Woman of the Year campaign.

Cromwell became involved with the Chapter in 2011 when he participated as a candidate, launching what would become a steadfast commitment to LLS and the Man & Woman of the Year campaign.  In the years since, he has served as a member of the Leadership Team, and as an All Star Candidate, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for the mission.  But his greatest impact was felt last year, when he said YES to chairing the Leadership Team – and broke all records – locally and nationally!  Through his leadership, the campaign recruited 30 candidates - the largest class in the nation at the time – which included 10 high impact candidates who raised over $100,000 each, which was also another national record!  His direct impact on the nearly $2.4M raised, which was nearly ONE MILLION over the prior year, was over $700,000!

Cromwell, we cannot thank you enough for your leadership and commitment to LLS and our mission.  On behalf of the Board and the Chapter Staff, thank you!
