Portland, OR – The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is proud to announce that Geri Naumcheff will represent Oregon & SW Washington as the All-Star alumni candidate in the annual Man & Woman of the Year fundraising competition which begins March 2, 2019 and ends May 11, 2019.

As a native Oregonian and Happy Valley resident, Geri, who is also a member of the Happy Valley Parks Committee, sees this as a great opportunity to get the community she loves involved in the fight to cure blood cancers.  In her role with AstraZeneca, she sees first-hand how research can make a positive difference for patients and is gearing up to have her biggest impact yet!

Geri ran as a Woman of the Year Candidate in 2015 and has also served as a Team Captain, Chair of the Leadership Team and a nominator of past winners.  She is excited to have an even greater impact this year and in her role as All-Star, she will mentor – rather than compete with – the local Man & Woman of the Year candidates as they fundraise in support of the LLS mission.

While bringing the national title back to Oregon would be great, for Geri it is more about helping cancer patients.  “I want to do my part to create more survivors and truly believe in the work that LLS is doing.  Their funding was instrumental in the 2017 approvals of 15 (of the 18) new blood cancer treatments and they also support families with co-pay and travel assistance programs.  No one is doing more than LLS.”
