The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Presents
Man & Woman of the Year
Each year, in cities nationwide, business and community leaders step forward to become candidates in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) "Man & Woman of the Year" campaign. During this important ten-week fundraising event, candidates form teams and compete in honor of the Boy & Girl of the Year, two local children who are blood cancer patients/survivors. The man and woman who raise the most funds during the campaign are awarded the prestigious title of Man or Woman of the Year. Proceeds support vital blood cancer research, life-saving therapies and patient services.
The 2018 campaign starts with an exciting Kick Off event on March 1, 2018, at Niello Mini in Sacramento. The fundraising competition will culminate with a black-tie Grand Finale Gala on May 12, 2018 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. This prestigious Gala, which is a celebration of all the candidates and their teams, includes a VIP champagne reception, musical entertainment, a fabulous gourmet dinner and live and silent auctions. The highlight of the evening is the announcement of the Man & Woman of the Year winners. Last year, the Greater Sacramento Area campaign raised an amazing $530K! In 2018, we hope to hope to exceed that amount and set a fundraising record of $600K! Our goal is for a cure and a world free from cancer.
